2005 InRC Chapters 4-10

This class will present requirements from the 2005 Indiana Residential Code, covering foundations, framing, chimneys, and fireplaces.

A training seminar sponsored by the Indiana Association of Building Officials, Inc. a chapter of the International Code Council, Inc.


Indiana Association of Building Officials will host a seminar on August 27, 2015 to present and discuss residential structural requirements.  This will include the Indiana Amendments to the code.


Date:  August 27, 2015

  • Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m.
  • Class will start at 9:00 a.m.
  • There will be 1 hour for lunch
  • Class will conclude at 4:00 p.m.

Cost:
Member:  $75, this fee will cover the instructor
Non-member:  $100, this fee will cover the instructor

Lunch is not provided.

The Course is designed for 6 contact hours, or .6 CEUs and has been approved for ICC Preferred Provider Network CEUs.



Materials:

Bring your copy of the 2005 Indiana Residential Code (2003 International Residential Code and Indiana Amendments)


Class Information:
This seminar will assist participants in understanding the Structural requirements of the Indiana Residential Code.  It will include information about footings, framing requirements, and fireplaces and chimneys.  During this training, participants will be listening to lecture and engaging in class discussion.


Goal:  Upon completion of the course, students will have working knowledge of structural requirements of the code related to single family homes and duplexes, allowing participants to apply code requirements to design, plan review, and/or inspection.


Objectives:  Upon completion of this seminar, participants will be better able to:

  1. Identify the requirements of the Indiana Residential Code
  2. Apply the code requirements for design, plan review and inspection.

Instructor:  Craig Wagner, IABO instructor
Craig has taught many classes for the Association.  He is past president, a current board member, has participated at national code hearings many times, has been active on the IABO Code Committee for many years, and has been part of the Indiana code adoption process.  Craig is very familiar with Indiana's amendments to the model code, and as part of the adoption process has a great deal of knowledge about the background of the amendments.



Please register no later than two weeks prior to class date.  Registrations received after Thursday, August 13th will not be guaranteed class materials at the time of class.


Cancellation Policy - All cancellations must be received in writing no later than August 13, 2015 to avoid penalty.  All late cancellations and no shows will be billed $25.  Faxed cancellations must be verified they were received.  It is the responsibility of the registrant to make the verification.  Emergencies will be dealt with on an individual basis.
