2020 Indiana Residential Code: Mechanical Provisions in Chapters 12 – 25

A training seminar sponsored by the Indiana Association of Building Officials, Inc. a chapter of the International Code Council, Inc.

This course consists of six contact hours and earns 0.6 ICC PPN CEU's.


Course Description:

This seminar examines the essential mechanical concepts found in Chapters 12 through 25 of the 2020 Indiana Residential Code that provide a basis for the correct utilization of the code.  A clear understanding of the identified requirements allows the code user to apply the 2020 InRC in specific situations and helps to build an understanding of the code’s intended application. This seminar will also help the code user to correctly locate the applicable code requirements.

 

Instructors:  Mark Fasel

Mark Fasel is a Director of PMG Technical Resources for the International Code Council, where he serves as a subject matter expert to the plumbing, mechanical, fuel gas, swimming pool and spa, and private waste sewage disposal code disciplines.  Fasel also serves as a 4th year plumbing apprentice instructor at Mechanical Skills plumbing trade school in Indianapolis, Indiana.

In his role at ICC, he serves on multiple federal and state coalitions, task forces, committees, and councils where expertise in I-Code subject matter is required.  This includes serving as Technical Committee member for multiple CSA, ASTM, and NFPA standards referenced by the International Codes.

With more than 25 years of experience in government, manufacturing, and construction industry he has served as the Senior manager of government affairs and codes and standards for Viega LLC plumbing and heating system manufacturer.  Fasel also served as Building Commissioner for the City of Fishers, Indiana, and Building Inspector for the City of Indianapolis.

Mark is a Past President for the Indiana Association of Building Officials, and an ICC certified commercial and residential building inspector, plans examiner, mechanical, plumbing, fuel gas, and electrical inspector and holds a degree in Science from Vincennes, University.


Registration Deadline:

The registration deadline is July14 at 11:59 pm.  No registrations will be received after July 14 and no walk-ins will be allowed the day of the training.

After registration is successfully submitted a confirmation email will be sent to the email address entered during registration.


Cancellation Policy:
All cancellations must be received in writing no later than July 14, 2024 to avoid penalty.  All late cancellations and no shows will be billed $50.  Faxed cancellations must be verified they were received.  It is the responsibility of the registrant to make the verification.  Emergencies will be dealt with on an individual basis.


Attendance Notice Regarding Certificates/Funding: 

Indiana Association of Building Officials is committed to complying with the requirements of the Division of Fire and Building Safety, as they administer the education fund.

As Indiana Association of Building Officials submits the request for funding on behalf of the membership, IABO will not submit an attendee’s name who does NOT attend the entire class; failure to attend the entire class renders that attendee ineligible for funding.
