Indiana Pool Guide
A training seminar sponsored by the Indiana Association of Building Officials, Inc. a chapter of the International Code Council, Inc.

*IABO has applied for funding through the Statewide Fire and Building Safety Education Fund (675 IAC 12-11). Please DO NOT pay in advance as an invoice will be sent following the class.
This course consists of six contact hours and earns 0.6 ICC PPN CEU's.
Course Description:
The Indiana Pool Guide is an in-depth review of both residential pools and spas as well as commercial pools and splash pads. This guide will walk the student through the entire process of each application from the planning and permitting phase through the final inspection. The guide will cover each type of pools construction, bonding requirements, power requirements, safety requirements, and some common health dept. requirements. The AM portion of the class will cover residential pools and touch on decks and portable pools. The PM portion of the class will focus on commercial pools, as well as other factors that add complexity to these pools such as occupant loads, egress, restrooms, etc.…

Instructor: Kenneth Seal
Husband, Father, Soldier, Building Commissioner. Kenneth Seal has held many titles over the course of his life and career. Starting in the construction industry at the age of 14, Kenneth has spent nearly three decades working in roles including laborer, carpenter, foreman, and superintendent. While honing these skills Kenneth also heard the call to military service and has served in the United States Army for more than two decades, including seven overseas tours. Kenneth’s foray into inspections began in 2015 with the City of Indianapolis and continues today with the City of Greenwood, where he serves as building commissioner. Kenneth also serves as the Director of District 5 for the Indiana Association of Building Officials (IABO), and he was the 2022 Nick Nicholson Education Award recipient from IABO.
Registration Deadline:
The registration deadline is April 13, 2025 at 11:59 pm. No registrations will be received after April 13 and no walk-ins will be allowed the day of the training.

Cancellation Policy:
All cancellations must be received in writing no later than April 13, 2025 to avoid penalty. All late cancellations and no shows will be billed $50. Faxed cancellations must be verified they were received. It is the responsibility of the registrant to make the verification. Emergencies will be dealt with on an individual basis.
Attendance Notice Regarding Certificates/Funding:
Indiana Association of Building Officials is committed to complying with the requirements of the Division of Fire and Building Safety, as they administer the education fund.
As Indiana Association of Building Officials submits the request for funding on behalf of the membership, IABO will not submit an attendee’s name who does NOT attend the entire class; failure to attend the entire class renders that attendee ineligible for funding.
