Indiana Association of Building Officials

Why Join IABO

Why Join IABO? There are classes held throughout the year teaching from the most basic to the most technical aspects of the Codes. You'll become a better inspector knowing not just what the codes are, but why they are, and your enforcement will be consistent throughout the state.

Instruction covering the operation of building departments is offered to assist you and/or your staff with office procedures, forms development and your legal responsibilities.

Association with peers allows single voice representation within the state and national code development entities and promotes legislation and code development with the viewpoint of Building Inspectors being clearly promoted.

Inclusion in a professional association is a strong step toward career enhancement. Your supervisors, your clients and your communities should be made aware that "Building Inspector" is a career which requires specialized and technical knowledge. It is not merely a job which is easily replaced.

The Annual Business Meeting is an event packed with education, peer discussion, a vendor trade show highlighting new and existing technologies, and much more. This event must not be missed.

Though cost of membership is low, the cost of not having support in your job is very high. Investigate this opportunity today.
