What you need to know todayThe threat of injury from deadly carbon monoxide poisoning is reduced by requirements for the installation of alarms designed to detect low levels of the gas and alarm residents of the home before reaching levels that threaten health. Electrical distribution systems will be protected with the installation of arc-fault circuit interrupters reducing the chances of fires and protecting families’ futures and their investments for generations. Every basement will be required to have an escape and rescue opening, not only making the basement safer for the resident but also safer for firefighting personnel; and these are just a few measures benefiting Indiana residents in homes built under the new code requirements.
